Matt Campbell, technology and AI adviser
Matt Campbell is Promotion Devotion’s founder and lead technical architect. He advises small and medium-sized businesses on technology strategy, AI adoption, software architecture, systems integration, and technical leadership.

Clear direction and a healthy team belong in the same conversation.
The strongest progress I've seen came when people understood the direction, trusted one another, and could contribute their strengths. These are the principles I bring to technical leadership.
Listen before advising
The right recommendation depends on the real constraint, the people closest to the work, and what the business can carry right now.
Make priorities visible
A useful plan names what comes first, what can wait, and what the team is choosing not to do yet.
Share responsibility
Your team brings context and judgment. I bring experience, questions, and a clear view of the tradeoffs in front of you.
Develop people
The goal is more confidence and capability inside the business, with decisions and reasoning that remain understandable after a session ends.
Good stewardship. Lasting value.
Your technology should serve your business today and leave your team stronger for tomorrow.
Technology and AI advice starts with the business decision in front of you.
Matt Campbell looks at the workflows, systems, processes, and people responsible for carrying a decision forward. The goal is a recommendation your team can explain, own, operate, and improve.
Technology affects a business's budget, its pace, and the way people work together. I start with the decision in front of you, then look at the systems, processes, and team responsible for carrying it forward.
That can mean choosing an AI workflow, reviewing an architecture, deciding whether to buy or build, or bringing order to a roadmap that has grown difficult to trust. My role is to make the options clearer and help your team move with a plan it can explain.
I work alongside the people who know your business best. Their context matters. The strongest answer is one the team can own, operate, and improve after the engagement.
How do I keep AI-assisted work accountable?
I help your team build software they can trust and confidently improve. I start with clear goals, choose tools that fit the business, and turn priorities into manageable changes. My production-proven processes combine automated checks with experienced review, so progress is measurable and quality holds up as your team grows.
Define success before generating code
Agree on the user need, constraints, risks, and acceptance criteria. The output is a clear brief that both the team and AI can work against.
Choose the foundation
Review the tools, data boundaries, permissions, and architecture. Break the work into changes small enough to inspect and test.
Verify every change
Use automated tests, type checks, and human review to evaluate the change against the brief. A confident explanation from a model is not evidence that the system works.
Give your team a clear path forward
Document decisions and remaining risks, verify the release, and make ownership clear so the next change starts from a dependable foundation.
A decade of experience.
My experience spans software development, product leadership, architecture, connecting dozens of services and business systems, CTO work, and building products of my own.

From the field to the finances.
I designed, architected, and built DropHaul to connect the moving parts of portable sanitation operations.

The people who keep it all in perspective.
I’m blessed beyond measure to have been married to my gorgeous wife, Jerusha, for 10 years now. She is the mother of our three handsome boys, and between them there is rarely a quiet room.
Jack (6) is cautious yet too smart for his own good. He loves to read and learn, and he's always sharing what he's learned or made. Judah (4) is our funny, ornery little guy. He's tough, strong, and fearless. Connor (2) thinks he's just as big, strong, and fast as his older brothers.
They keep my priorities clear. I want to do meaningful work, do it well, and be present for the people I love.
